After graduation I headed off to Boston for college, then to LA to work for NBC Studios and eventually back home to Tulsa to work in marketing. Last year I joined the Peace Corps to serve as an English teacher in a small mountain village. On my one year anniversary in-country, we were evacuated due to the NATO bombing of Serbia. After being home for about four months, I got the word yesterday that the Peace Corps program has reopened in Macedonia and I am headed back there on September 15th for two more years. I would like to establish a pen-pal program between my students and American students so if any of you are high school teachers or work with high school students, please drop me a line. Thanks!

Greetings! Well troopers I figured out who I was and what I wanted to be as soon as I graduated from BTW. I joined the Navy in the fall of 1990. I have served in the Armed Forces for almost nine years. I am currently on assignment in Manama Bahrain as a Military Police Officer. This leaves little time for a social life. In what spare time I do have I am finishing up my degree in Criminology with minor in Sociology. I have put roots down in Norfolk, Va. I now have a beautiful little cottage in a very quiet area (nice big back yard for sun and beer.) My cozy family has increased by two four legged dogs, one cat and one fish. My email address is lbconnie@aol.com . Please feel free to send me mail at any time. GO NAVY!

I'd love to find out more about any upcoming reunions and also about the BTW History Project. I really have positive memories of my days at Booker T. and would be glad to share memories and possibly photos. Maybe I could even complete an "assignment" to add to the record. My life in very brief since high school. I moved to San Diego Ca to attend UCSD (La Jolla, CA). I pursued art for about 1.5 years until settling on Chemical Engineering instead. Graduated cum laude with BS in Chem E. I briefly worked for a BioTech company called DepoTech as a process engineer doing scale up work before finding a job in the Environmental field. I am presently a Waste Acceptance Chemist at Pacific Treatment Environmental Services, Inc. Our specialty is disposing of highly toxic or hazardous waste and navigating the web of EPA regulation. I have also gotten married (October 31, 98, New Orleans) to Kurtis W. Pauly, a former resident of Tulsa whom I met in California in 1990. We own a record store (his specialty) here in San Diego called Entertainment Exchange (see our auctions on eBay!). My e-mail is above or you can send music requests to Kurtis at entx@home.com . Let me know at the caharls@home.com address when the ten year reunion is and if I can help!

Hornets! After BTW, I went to TJC then OSU, earning a bachelors degree is Management Information Systems, with a minor in Computer Science. True to my geek roots, in 1994 I helped start Tulsa's first Internet Service Provider, Galaxy Star Systems. Three years later, I came to work for MCI Worldcom where I am a senior production UNIX systems administrator, primary working with the local telephone and local data service systems. For the current students reading this, remember, most of the real learning is done outside the formal educational system! Install Linux or something, willyah? My current hobbies include working out, and 80's arcade game repair and collecting. (Trust me, the two *are* related.) If the lights are still on, I'll see you for the Y2K reunion!

Hoorah fellow Hornets. After graduating in 1990 I attended Drury College in Springfield, MO where I earned a BA in History and received a secondary social studies teaching certificate. While in Missouri I was a manager for a food service company, substitute teacher (with a shortterm gig filling in for a sick teacher), sales associate for J. Riggings, a custodian and even a stock boy for Victoria's Secret. I then moved to Ft. Worth, Texas in 1997 to work for my dad. Still unable to find a career which both satisfied and challenged me, I decided to join the USMC Reserves (not active, because I am getting old) to be a navigator on C-130 Hercules aircraft, fulfilling a goal and hopefully helping me get started on a career path. Please write any time, I would be glad to hear from any fellow Hornets.

Hornets Forever!  Hello fellow alumni.  I am proud to say it has been almost 10 years since graduation.  After I graduated in 1990 I went to Ithaca College in NY state and got my Bachelors in Sociology (class of 1994--cumlaude).  I enjoyed many years of covering events for the yearbook and was a visible activist on campus. After my stint in Ithaca, I went on to the #1 school of Social Work at the University of Michigan.   I received my Masters of Social Work May 1997.  Since then I have been an advocate and active Psychiatric Social Worker at a local hospital in the great state of NJ.  I work with both those in recovery and those with mental illness.  I enjoy my work and its many rewards.  I maintain touch with my best friend from BTW Joel Elad (class of 1995)and have followed his many successes in the computer field.  I hope to get back into touch with those other people who were special in my life and heart during those long high school years.  I will never forget the pride which Booker T. Washington had in my and others hearts during that time.  IN hive pride.  MK.

After graduation in 1990, I sat out of school for 1 year and just lived.  Finally overcoming my shyness.  In 1992, I realized what the most important things in life were.  I dropped out of the nursing program to spend time with my Dad who had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.  I was able to spend some real quality time with him, and with my Dad walking me down the isle- I was married on December 12, 1992 to my best friend.  My Dad passed away shortly after.  I finished nursing school and have now been a nurse for 3 1/2 years.  My husband and I are still happily married and we have a beautiful 5 year old boy named Dylan. We live in Tulsa, but through his job are able to travel all over.  Would love to hear from some of the fellow graduates.

I'm currently living in Raleigh, North Carolina.   I'm working with a professional theater called Burning Coal Theater Company.   I'm a company member and the education coordinator.
PS to all of the drama folks who were in Amy Katon Ford's advanced theater class and were in You Can't Take it With You in the Spring of 89. I spoke with her about two weeks ago.   She's still living in Seattle.  She did film casting for a while.  She cast all of the extras in Titanic.  Now, she's going back into theater, and she's also writing.  If you want to get in touch with her, email me.  I've got her info.

What's up class mates. This is David Atkinson. I'm still living here in Tulsa working as a police officer. I've seen a lot of stuff during the last 8 years. Anyway, I'd like to hear from some of my fellow HORNETS. You can reach me at the following e mail address. david.atkinson@jenksps.org.

Hey Bobi Jo Hill, this is David Atkinson, you remember me from when I flirted with you all the time? Anyway I heard you are a counselor at the HORNET HIVE. Mike Hurd told me and Derek "Moose" Cowan told me also. Anyway if you get this I hope you'll respond. I've been working for the Jenks School System as a Campus Police Officer. I'm also a Reserve Officer for the Tulsa Police Department. I've been doing that for 8 years. I graduated from the academy in 1998. I never thought I would have 2 different police cars parked at my residence. One is a TPD car and the other one is a JCPD car. I really enjoy doing what I do. I've worked with the Gang Unit at the Tulsa State Fair, and I've done a warrant sweep with the Special Operations Team and Homicide Detectives. I also work part time as a loss prevention agent at Dillard's. Well actually I'm a floor officer. Dillard's only hires full time police officers to work the floor at their stores. Well I don't know if you ever heard, but my brother Matthew, I think you remember him. Well he passed away back in 2002. To this day it's a hard thing to deal with not having him here to talk to and hang with. I was gonna take some vacation time to spend with him and his wife, but then he died which has left a part of me empty. Well anyway give me a call some time. My number is 955-4634.

David

Yes there is going to be a 20 year. We need to start a reunion fund now so that we can just go on an all inclusive cruise or something and skip the planning process foreheadslap

You Dallas, TX people need to get together and form a chapter so that we can have more people working on it from both ends.

MsDeyon, This is David Atkinson. I'm wanting to know when and where the next class reunion will be, and how much our dues are. If you will let me know when the meetings will be and where, I would appreciate it. I also need to know the times so that I can see if I can make it. I work 4 evening shifts and 1 graveyard shift. My off days are Monday and Tuesday. I would like to be able to make it to the 20 year reunion, and I read something about Angela Willis. Is it true that she's passed away? I hope that isn't the case.

David
