From previous btwhs.org website alumni section:
Class of 1996 Eric Wade email: erwade@mit.edu Posted: Sun Apr 30 10:12:39 2000 Gracie Moore e-mail: gem-11@ionet.net Posted: 8-9-99 Hi everyone! I didn't graduate from Booker T. I left after my freshman year and went to Metro Christian Acadamy. But I would love to hear from old class mates and I still treasure my memories of my freshman year. I would also like to be included in any alumni activities if possible. I am at the University of Tulsa, majoring in musical theater. Just one more year! Gracie Andrea Arrington e-mail: aarringt@knox.edu or andreaarrington@hotmail.com Posted: 7-19-99 Hello everyone. I just forced Rachel Stockley to put in a message, and now I am going to update mine. I am back from half a year in Zimbabwe, which was absolutely wonderful. Now I am finishing up research for my Ford Fellowship before heading back to school this fall. I will be a senior at Knox College in Galesburg, Il (yes, it is the same school that Rachel Stockley attends. Yes, we are still friends. No, we don't room together or ever have. Yes, we are as annoying as we were in high school). I am a history major, which means I better get into grad school or I will be living with my parents, thinking about the glory days of college that got me nowhere. After Knox, I want to go to grad school and work on a Ph.D in African Studies. Somehow Rachel and I will have to arrange to still be in the same city. So that's my life. Peace out to my homz (Rachel came up with that), especially ol Ricky, oops, Erica. Rachel Stockley e-mail: rstockle@knox.edu or rudysoto@aol.com Posted: 7-19-99 well, what to write. I'm home for the summer(99) because I have to make money and rent is free. In the fall, I will begin my fourth year of college by student teaching in Chicago. In the winter, I will be returning for my final two terms at Knox College in Galesburg, IL (Yes, it is the same school that Andrea Arrington attends. Yes, we are still friends. No we don't room together or ever have. Yes, we are as annoying as we were in high school.) to complete a double major in elementary education and psychology. I will then marry a very rich man who will take me to a beautiful island where we will have a million children and do nothing all day. If I can't talk a rich man into marrying me, I will be a poor teacher and live with my parents. Or I might become a feminist who lives in a nudist colony. Or I might become a man. After obtaining a degree in psychology, I can become whatever I want. Peace out to my homz. David Kurtz e-mail: faht@ou.edu Posted: 7-7-99 Well, its nice to see Booker T. on the net. Just in case anyone is wandering, I am a visual communications major @ Oklahoma University. Send me an e-mail (no chain letters). Brent Northam e-mail: bnortham@bu.edu Posted: 7-6-99 Hey everybody! Just an update. . .I'll be interning in the US Congress in September. It'll give me a chance to get out of Boston for awhile. I'm double majoring in Economics and International Relations, so if anybody can't remember what the price elasticity of demand is, I'm here for you. Robyn Thomas e-mail: rthomas24@hotmail.com Posted: 6-21-99 Hey! glad to see we're updated. hope everyone's doing alright. if you remember me, e-mail me. Hey Class of 1996!
It's Tamika Killian (now Crissup thanks to marriage). I remember the clique, and all the trouble you girls gave me during flag practice. After Booker T., I spent a few years (maybe 5) at OSU getting my chemical engineering degree. I'm currently living in Austin, Texas working for an environmental engineering consulting firm called Brown and Caldwell. Thanks for putting up this great website, and now that I found it, I will check it. It's great to get updates from everyone and see how we have all spread out all over the place. Everybody take care! |

I know there have got to be newer updates than these.... I have an eight-month-old little girl named Isabel, who is awesome! I am in Oklahoma City teaching United States History at a local college on a part time basis, and work full time for LGB, & Associates as a Military Historical Collections Consultant. I ran into Andrea Arrington the night before I got married, back in June of 2002. Besides that, I have seen a couple of other classmates in passing. Aaron Christensen and I remain close, and were undergraduate and graduate college roommates at Oklahoma State.

Hey Class of 1996, just came across this website trying to find pics of the new school... kinda sad that our school is no more. No more prefabs, No more back parking lot, but I understand they left the seal intact- we're Hornets, we have priorities! Anyway, for those who care, I'm in Tulsa about to graduate law school. I'm newly married with no kids but I have a crazy dog and a garden that keeps me busy.
As we look back at our high school experience, remember: “A friend is someone who will help you move. A real friend is someone who will help you move a body.” -Unknown |

Hi everyone! I'm so glad to see that BTW has a website like this where we can all reconnect. Julianne Kirk here, yes "Kirk's daughter"
I spent this past year serving as a Visiting Professor at Ball State University in Indiana - yes, David Letterman's alma mater. I will move to Northern New York in July and in the fall begin my permanent tenure track job at the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam. It will be cold up there, but I'm excited to move to such a beautiful part of the country. I've spent the last 4 years in Rochester, NY at the Eastman School of Music (you've heard of Juilliard?? Eastman is higher ranked than Juilliard) and recently completed my Doctorate in music. You can look me up on my personal website and keep up with my busy-ness: www.juliannekirk.com I hope everyone has a wonderful 2006 and if I'm in town for it, see you at the reunion! julianne1977@gmail.com |

Hi all...life has been good. I attended Oklahoma State after BTW majoring in Computer Science...graduated in 2000. Jeff and I got married in 1997--some of you were there. We moved to Peoria, IL after OSU where I worked for State Farm as a Systems Analyst. Jeff was an ME at Caterpillar. We had a little boy (Ethan Thomas) in Feb. 2003 and later decided that we wanted to be close to family. In the summer of 2004, we quit our jobs and moved to VA to take over the Jordan family business--Able Auto Service. We had another little boy (Tyler Jefferson) in Feb. 2006. I'm staying home with my boys and enjoying east coast life. Jeff and I celebrate 10 years this May--can you believe it?
BTW just isn't the same...the class of '96 was the last TRUE set of Hornets to graduate. |
