We are currently working with a Reunion Planner out of Norman. We are trying to secure the date of the July 9th-10th weekend. They are asking that we secure rooms. If that is the case, I will need at least 25 people to commit to rooms. Well 24 as I will be first on the list. The possible agenda would flow as follows:
Thursday-Its all on Steve Austin, at the 20th he hosted an "off the chain" pajama party.
Friday-Family outingTBA(suggested activites include something at BTW site, bowling, skating)
Friday night we will host an all school dance at the Greenwood Center
Saturday-Banquet at the hotel
Sunday-Brunch at the hotel
The Hotel is the Marriott if they would come through.
These are some of the things in the works. Please post or email me with ideas, and suggestions.

Yes, we're beginning the planning for our sojourn to the ancestral home. Now that I've decided to come...I'm really excited. Those of you still in Tulsa: How weird is it to see the new building...is there any of the old building left?

Where is everybody? Better not be a party going on I didn't hear about... Confused Razz

I'm doing my best trying to round up some of lugnuts from class of '79 so we can get a good showing. This might be the last chance we have to get a really good turnout...

Here's who I've contacted and their reaction, if any:
* Jeff Webster - very interested in attending
* Gary Leak - ?
* Joey Sanders - sounds like he'll show up
* Harold "Pee Wee" Lehman - didn't have time to talk to him about it but I'll get on his case
* David Ullrich - Just got his number and left him a message
* Darryl Buttrey - Called his old work number but he's left that company
* Bruce Watts - won't be able to make it, lives in Baltimore now, says "HI" to everyone

Yeah, he sure does, I don't think he likes Harold but he's anything but Pee Wee. I doubt if you'd recognize him as he's really buff, i.e. beefy. I didn't recognize when I saw him a little over a year ago at the airport...well he keeps his hair really short now.

Anyway he is still working at a machine shop which I think makes aircraft-related parts for the aeronautical industry and that's located near the airport and he lives out south close to Randy Rutledge. Pee Wee had a ministry, which is something I wanted to talk to him about, where he'd go to churches and town halls bending iron and stuff to spread the Word.

I actually just saw Randy and some of the old gang as we met up for a bowling outing tonight, good times...I haven't laughed like that in ages.

Mark Rutledge even showed up and I was on his case about the reunion but he said he thinks that's the weekend he's supposed to head to Tennessee. The other dudes who showed up were my brother (class of 77), Gary Leak, Pat Montgomery (80), Joey Sanders, Marcus Jackson (I actually just got in touch w/ him today, man that guy's a very good bowler) and Jeff Webster ghosted us, as did Marty Irwin (80)...thus they are on the you-know-what list...DNC (do not call). Mad missingtooth

Chuck,
Are you going to be able to make the reunion? Might be our last chance, only God knows, to see everyone in a big group, so I hope you can move mole and ant hills and can return to the motherland and I have to get on Robt Hightower's case too. I haven't seen you since my OSU days and that was in 1981 or 82 I think... confused2

As I recall, "Pee Wee" was always sort of genetically predisposed to "buffness" anyway, so I am not surprised that he is huge with some effort put into it. He and I have some history together. At the beginning of my first year at Monroe JH he was talking about my mother in Mr. Margerum's (?)class (a sport in which most of the kids at MJH engaged). While he was actually doing it in a good-natured way, coming from Cherokee this was a bit of culture shock for me. So . . . I hit him in the mouth. Margerum stopped us before it went any further and Pee Wee apologized, extending the hand of friendship to me. We were always friends after that.

Later, in 8th or 9th grade, one of the more sadistic coaches paired me up with Pee Wee in a wrestling match in gym. The entire thing took less than 8 seconds. Pee Wee did the take-down and then I remember my face being scooted across the mat with him on top of me. As I recall, he felt bad about it and helped me up. I wasn't mad at him but I still think the coach was reprehensible in his actions. All this to say, Pee Wee always had a heart of gold so I'm not surprised to hear that he is involved in ministry of some sort.

As far as coming to the reunion. I would love to but may have an important meeting to attend. I heard the other day that the date of the meeting might change to the next week. If it does I'll do my best to be there. If not, let me know the next time you put together a bowling night, etc. and I'll try to make that. I have a son that lives in Tulsa so the trip could serve a dual purpose.

Margerum was an arse, I'm surprised he stopped the fight. My dad went to talk to Ms. Collier after he called me a 'Jap' one day in class. We were rowdy in his classes but he was bad when it came to ragging, he kind of encouraged it if my memory serves correctly...

Coach Bolton or Coach McGuinness (sp?)? I got along well w/ both of them, except when Coach B cut me for 9th grade basketball, which may have been a good thing cause they got embarrassed against the likes of Gilcrease and Carver.

Yeah, I'll let you know about the next bowling outing. How many hours does it take from Buffalo to reach T-Town? I hope you can make the reunion!!!

Update you don't have to wear a tux, nice attire will be sufficient. Wink The family day will be Friday the 9th instead of the 10th. Pass it on. We will take group pictures both nights so those of us who will attend everything will get to be in two pictures biglaugh
