I'm Dan Richards. I started as a freshman at Booker T in the fall of 1975 and graduated in '79.

Unlike a lot of people I meet these days who absolutely hated their high school years – I loved mine! I am convinced that BTW - especially after it became a magnet school – was one of the finest high schools in the country.

I've spent a lot of my time after graduation in NYC and Copenhagen, Denmark. In 2001, just after 9/11, my wife, Karen, and I moved down to South Carolina where we live right on the beach.

Most of my work has been involved in music and the audio recording fields as well as publishing.

Glad to be here!

Hey, you never told me you got married! I'll get the word out about this site, good job!

No wonder you`re all mixed up. You got a white man`s 1st name, a Spanish man`s 2nd name and a black man`s 3rd name. -- Mickey Rivers to Reginald (Reggie) Martinez Jackson

This beats the pop-ups and etc. on Classmates.com.

I am Joe Shaw, class of '78. I did indeed enjoy my time at Booker T.

I am happily partnered in Long Beach California, and I own a retail store called California Greetings in Huntington Beach.

I'm glad this forum is here I will check in again.

Hi Dan, this is a great site, thanks for putting this together! Hope Hurricane Isabel isn't cramping your style. To this day, whenever I hear Dynamo Hum (my husband is a big Zappa fan) I think of you! Take care, Jane

I'm Keith Schmorr. I entered BTW in 1976 as a freshman and graduated in 1980. In 1980, I moved to Denton, TX to go to NTSU (now UNT)and got stuck there. I play a lot of gigs in Dallas (mainly corporate gigs). Did I read that Dan Richards put this site together?

Yep, Dan is responsible for this! Why did it take you until 1980 to graduate, shouldn't you have finished in 79?

No, I came to BTW as a freshman in 1976, just fourteen years old, and I wasn't smart enough to graduate early. I've still kept in touch with Tom Spoonmore and Jason Bliss. Tom recently moved to Seattle with some start-up computer company and Jason is living in Mckinney, TX, a suburb of Dallas. Jason worked for the same company as Tom until a few years ago.

Keith,
But that meant you were a sophomore in 77, which is the year I entered as a soph, but I graduated in 79. Maybe you were so smart you entered as an 8th grader in 76? Wink I should have went to BTW in 76 too and gotten an extra year of baseball.

Actually, it's trickier than that. Freshman 76-77, Sophmore 77-78, Junior 78-79, Senior 79-80. A couple of teachers tried to keep me there past 1980.

Hey Bobby D. I got your email. We have moved back to Tulsa from Duncan. It's nice to be back in T-Town. Things have changed a bit since we have been gone. I guess your still in the land of the rising sun. I miss that place! I hope to take the family back there one day. I had to steal your avatar, it brings back such great memories of the team. My fondest memories are of baseball and BTW. Anyway, this is a short one, maybe a few more of us can get together via e-mail and talk about the good ol' days!

Aundrea Walton "79" I had the best four years of high school at BTW. I've made friends that have lasted these past 25 years. We were an involved group that valued friendship. We've grown to be intelligent adults and it gives me great joy to work with the planning committee to bring us all back together. I want this to be the best reunion ever and my goal is to bring this thing together and have a great time hornet style.
We always had great dances, awesome pep rallies, and high jenks was off the "hook" 2yay I participated in the dance ensemble so I can't say enough about the band and their hornet sting. waytogo Get the word out about this sight and about our reunion. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Good to see so many familiar names on this fantastic website!

Since graduation, I've lived in OKC, Kansas City, and Pittsburgh, but came back to Tulsa in '95.

I look forward to hearing from old friends, acquaintances, and anyone else who wants to say "Hi there!"

Rick

Riley G Matthews Jr was born in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and raised in Tulsa, OK. While attending a special High School (Booker T. Washington H.S.) in Tulsa, OK for advanced training in Music, and the Arts, Riley G excelled in Theater and TV Production. Even at this early age, all students in the TV Production classes were required to write and direct a series of commercials and a 1 hour TV show for local cable. Riley G’s first TV show was a Hypnotism show shot live on tape in studio using three cameras. At the same time, he was interning at a local NBC station in Tulsa. Some of the actors and other entertainers coming out of his Booker T. Washington days are actress / stand up comic, Katsy Chappell, actor / singer, Chris Glenn, actor Robert Standley, and international comic strip artist, Dan Piraro.

At the age of 18, Riley G joined the US Army Military Police Corps and traveled the world for seven years as a Military Police Officer. His travels and duty assignments took him to Europe for a period of four (4) years, Hawaii for 2 years and New York City for one (1) year.

After the US Army, Riley G joined the New York City Police Department as a Police Officer. His crime fighting days with the NYPD lasted four years until suffering a broken neck at disc's C4-5-6 in a freak accident where the street collapsed under his police car. A resulting operation corrected the broken neck, but Riley G was forced into retirement.

Riley G has traveled around the USA and abroad as a psychic detective with friend and psychic, Uri Geller. During this time Riley G has appeared as the featured interview in several international magazines and newspaper articles not to mention the numerous radio and TV talk shows demonstrating his paranormal abilities of remote viewing and other forms of extra-sensory perception. Riley G walked away from that business in the summer of 1995 for personal reasons...

Since his retirement from the NYPD, he also became a professional actor and stuntman in the Screen Actors Guild, as well as being the International President of the Blood Brothers MC...
