Booker T. Washingtons students are way more diverse than its facualty. I believe that there are about 20 African American teachers and maybe about six other minorities. Tulsa already has a Memorial High School, but if this continues we will have two. I don't know when the last time was that you have been in the new school, but trust me, I have come to realize that it is no longer the school we remember, and not because of the new building. Ideals that are racist, nonracist, and unconcerned shape an enivement. I think that it is worth considering speaking in one voice to let the powers that be know that you care. One person, one voice will do nothing, absolutely nothing. I have tried to voice my concerns. I was told that I am only one person and it means nothing. Meanwhile they are steamrolling over BTW's minority students in ways they believe that the community is to ignorant to see. Look closely, the pink elephant is in the room. It is not what the principal says or what a member of facualty says, what are they doing? What is their intent? What do they want for BTW as shown by their action? While many alumi celebrate historical memories at BTW, BTW is becoming history. Well at least the way we remember it. I fear that BTW is being destroyed from the inside out. The two year old discussion about admittance is only the begining. Just for the record, I do not live in the schools neighborhood but I believe that they have a right to attend the school (all they asked is if the child meets the requirement that they be accepted and not bussed out), it is in their neighborhood. Remember BTW was at one time the only high school for blacks. We need to respect how they feel. Please support BTW. Tachona 82'

See my thoughts on the "Black Teachers of Booker T" in my post below. I'm starting to see a pattern of the problem. See my post on racial discrimiation:
