It is with a very heavy heart to announce that Warren Sylvan (Class of '79) has passed away. His friend William Brown provided this info and about his memorial service as follows:

Friday April 11, 2008 at 10:00 A.M.

I personally will miss him a lot. I never knew Warren during our time at Booker T. We knew about each other and probably smiled at each other a few times in the hallways.

He dropped me an email after seeing something on my website about the Dazz Band and became good friends after that until we finally met in Tulsa.

I'm pretty sure he'd like to tell all those people, as would I, he went to school with and never talked to that that was one of his biggest regrets. Some of that was due to shyness (I'd like to think we both overcame a lot of that), some to adolescent insecurity and the rest we could probably figure out over more than a few laughs.

Warren had a great sense of humor and a good people person. But I think what he'd say about himself is that he is a believer, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and my savior, and I can only take comfort in that with regards to his passing. Rest in peace, my brotha, I shall see you on the other side. Thank you for your friendship! I will miss you...
