I've been searching this site for pictures of the new building, but haven't seen any. Maybe the webmaster can put a link on the front page asking for submitted pictures? I'm sure a lot of people besides me are curious to see it.

I'd like to see some pics of the new building, too. This is as good as place as any to make that request. There are probably more eyeballs looking through these forums than there are on the front page of btwhs.org.

Anyone who has pics of the new building please post some! If you want to upload image files as attachments in these forums, you can do that in the Booker T Photo Galley.

I drove by the new school last Friday but didn't stop in. I'll stop by next week and take some fotos.

The entrance is very near where the back parking lot was located. I drove around to the old front and they still have the old entranceway standing, like they are trying to figure out what to do w/ it. There is also new baseball and softball diamonds located next to the gym.

Makes the place where we went to school look like the old Central HS downtown or Edison. Big Grin That is amazing!

Thanks for the pics. It looks like an awesome new building.
It is sad to see the old building gone or going away. My grandfather built the original building.

Thanks for posting all those pics, Bobby and Keith!

Looks a bit like a prison from the outside, but the interior looks like it's done up right.

The new building is very nice. It's just sad to see the front standing alone. Did anyone get a brick from the building? I tell you, if those halls could talk it could tell some real stories.

I know most of the posts in this thread are almost a year old, but had to put my word in. From what I understood, they weren't going to move the Seal. They were going to leave the original entryway and Seal in place, with a park or gardens between the old and new buildings. Not sure if that's what they ended up doing. I live in town and haven't been able to get up there since they started laying the foundation for the new building. foreheadslap

Yes, you can take a tour. Just tell the person at the front, cause they actually have security desk. The entrance now is where the big parking lot was (northside) located.

The Hornet and original foyer is still there, they have a banquet room and some other rooms there but it's small. You'd just have to go see it but I'm not sure if that part is open to the public or not but I know the baseball team had their banquet in that bldg.

All the best!
